Founder's story
Built by someone who ran the front desk himself.
DeskFlux is coaching institute management software made in India, founded by Uday Doda after eight months of running one institute's daily operations by hand — and fifty-odd phone calls that proved it wasn't just his problem.
The origin story
Born at the front desk, not in a boardroom.
While doing my B.Com, I spent eight months as administrative supervisor at my maternal uncle's coaching institute in Fazilka, Punjab — running attendance, fees, staff and admissions by hand. When I moved to Meerut, the calls never stopped. So I called 50–60 other institute owners to find out if what I'd struggled with was actually a widespread problem, or just mine. It was — and DeskFlux is the fix I built for it.
Why coaching institutes needed different software
Coaching institutes run on an improvised stack: one register for attendance, a notebook for fees, a spreadsheet someone maintains at home, and WhatsApp holding the whole thing together. It works, in the sense that the institute functions. It just costs the owner their evenings, and it hides the things that matter — which students are drifting, which fees have quietly slipped, which enquiries were never followed up.
Most coaching institute management software on the market was really school or college ERP with a new label — built around fixed sections and one annual intake, then institutes were asked to change how they operate to suit it. Most tried it, and most went back to the register.
DeskFlux starts from how an Indian coaching institute actually runs: overlapping batches, students enrolled in two subjects at different hours, fees paid in parts, and a front desk doing four things at once during the evening changeover.
How DeskFlux works, day to day
- We do the data entry. Onboarding is done for you — send us your existing student, batch and fee records and we load them before you log in. An empty dashboard is how software gets abandoned in month two.
- Support in Hindi and English, on WhatsApp. Your front-desk staff should be able to ask a question in the language they are comfortable in, on the app they already have open.
- Your data stays yours. Deleted records sit in a recycle bin for 30 days and can be restored. If you ever want to leave, ask and we will export everything to Excel — no exit fee, no hostage-taking.
- Priced by features, not by students. Every plan supports unlimited students. Growing your institute should not increase your bill.
Where DeskFlux is today
DeskFlux is a small, founder-led team based in India, and the product went live in 2026. Being small is why onboarding is done by hand and why you tend to reach someone who actually builds the product when you write in — we would rather keep that for as long as it is possible.
If you are evaluating us, the most useful thing you can do is book a demo and bring your own data to it. If you want to understand how we think about this category first, the buying checklist is written to be useful even if you pick someone else.
