Why 6pm is where timetables break

  • Everyone wants the same two hours. School ends, and every batch wants 5–8pm. That is when your rooms and your best teachers are genuinely scarce, and where a clash is most likely.
  • A teacher clash is unfixable on the night. A room can be swapped in five minutes. A teacher standing in two places cannot — one batch goes home, and those parents remember it.
  • Most clashes arrive mid-term, not on day one. The opening timetable is checked carefully. The batch added in week six, after a new admission wave, is the one nobody re-checks against everything else.
  • Stagger starts by fifteen minutes. Two batches ending at once puts sixty students in one corridor. Offsetting the start times costs nothing and fixes the crush.

    How do I make a batch timetable for a coaching institute?

    List every batch with its teacher, room, days and start time, then check that no teacher and no room appears twice at the same hour. That second step is the one usually done by memory, and it is where the 6pm clash comes from. This planner does it for you as you type.

    What counts as a timetable clash?

    Two sessions that overlap in time on the same day and share either a teacher or a room. A teacher clash cannot be fixed on the night; a room clash means two batches arriving at one door.
